Community Involvement: The Forgotten Children's Fund 2024
December 31, 2024
This December, our team once again had the privilege of joining the Forgotten Children's Fund in Kent for a heartwarming gift-wrapping event. Together, we contributed to the organization's important mission of bringing joy and support to underprivileged children and their families throughout the Puget Sound region.
Since its founding in 1988, the Forgotten Children’s Fund has been a beacon of hope during the holiday season. Through a combination of community events, fundraisers, and heartfelt initiatives, the organization ensures that every family they serve feels the warmth of the season.
As an entirely volunteer-run operation, the Forgotten Children’s Fund depends on the generosity and involvement of the Seattle community to purchase, wrap, and deliver gifts each year. With Santa and his Elves at the helm, the gifts are delivered directly to families selected based on need, often without assistance from other organizations. Volunteers go the extra mile, tailoring gifts to each child’s name, age, clothing size, and special requirements. For some families, the support extends beyond gifts to include essential items like groceries or help with utilities.
The organization’s reach spans multiple counties in Washington, including King, Lewis, Skagit, Island, Snohomish, Whatcom, and Chelan, fostering a sense of unity and shared purpose across the communities it serves.
Participating in the gift-wrapping event was an incredibly rewarding experience for our team. It allowed us to support the Forgotten Children’s Fund in its mission to bring joy and hope to families in need, making a meaningful impact this holiday season.
